Police call 110,

The ghost of freedom

feature film, X-Filme, ARD

Four teenagers beat down a man of Muslim origin who allegedly molested a girl. The victim dies. The perpetrators, including Halbiraner Farim (Jasper Engelhardt), are being remanded in custody. A little later, Farim is recruited as an V-man by constitutional protection employee Röhl (Joachim Król) and is released. Chief Detective Hanns von Meuffels (Matthias Brandt) tries to question the events surrounding Farim's release and in doing so falls into a dangerous maelstrom of half-truths himself.

After the award-winning Polizeiruf 110 “Der Tod macht Engel aus uns allen”, director Jan Bonny (“Über Barbarossaplatz”) has now staged his second Munich Police Call 110.
The producer is Michael Polle (X Films Creative Pool Munich), who, after two Grimme Prize winners and nominees Munich Tatorten (“Never be free again” and “Die Wahrheit”), produced his first Munich Police Call 110 on behalf of the BR with “The Ghost of Freedom.” Cornelia Ackers is the editor.
